Have you ever found yourself wishing life would hurry up?
"I'll be happy when..."
"I'll start serving when..."
"I'll make a difference after..."
I think we've all caught ourselves saying those things.
We spend so much time looking ahead that we forget to live where God has placed us today.
Robin Sharma reminds us that greatness isn't built by waiting for the perfect opportunity. It's built by giving our best wherever we are.
I believe that's one of the hardest lessons to learn.
We all enjoy the mountaintop moments. We celebrate the accomplishments, the milestones, and the dreams that finally become reality.
But the truth is...
Most of life is lived in the ordinary days.
And I have learned that those ordinary days are often where God does His greatest work.
Faithfulness Comes Before Fulfillment
When I look back over my life, I can see seasons that felt slow.
There were seasons of waiting.
Seasons of rebuilding.
Seasons where I wondered if I was making any progress at all.
At the time, they felt ordinary.
Now I realize they were anything but ordinary.
They were seasons where God was quietly teaching me patience, perseverance, wisdom, and trust.
Sometimes we become so focused on where we want to be that we overlook the opportunities right in front of us.
But every season has purpose.
Every season has lessons.
Every season has people who need our encouragement.
Bloom Right Where You Are
I love watching children in a Montessori classroom.
They don't all master a lesson on the same day.
Some need more time.
Some move quickly.
Some surprise us in ways we never expected.
We don't compare them.
We simply encourage them to keep growing.
I think God does much the same with us.
He isn't asking us to live someone else's journey.
He's asking us to faithfully live our own.
Your life doesn't have to look like anyone else's to be exactly what God intended.
Your Challenge for the Week
| Focus | What to Do | Why It Helps |
|---|---|---|
| Be Present | Instead of wishing this season away, ask yourself what God wants you to learn from it. | Growth happens when we embrace today. |
| Serve Someone | Look for one simple way to encourage or help another person this week. | Purpose is often found in serving others. |
| Notice the Blessings | Write down three things you're grateful for each day. | Gratitude changes our perspective. |
You don't have to wait for a different season to make a difference.
You can begin today.
A Lesson I've Learned
One thing life has taught me is that God rarely wastes an ordinary day.
Some of the biggest moments in my life didn't begin with a big announcement.
They began with one conversation.
One opportunity.
One decision to stay faithful.
Looking back, I realize I couldn't always see where God was leading me.
But I could always choose to be faithful in the place where He had planted me.
And over time...
Those ordinary days became an extraordinary life.
Final Thought
If you're in a season that feels ordinary...
Don't underestimate it.
The habits you're building today...
The kindness you're showing today...
The people you're encouraging today...
The faith you're living today...
May be preparing you for something you can't yet imagine.
Bloom where God has planted you.
One day you'll look back and realize that the season you almost wished away...
Was the season that prepared you for everything that came next.

Remember... life isn't changed by one big decision. It's changed by the little decisions we make every day. Today's small choices become tomorrow's legacy. So choose wisely, love deeply, keep learning, and keep growing. Until next Monday, have a wonderful week... and keep building your legacy, one small choice at a time.
