Obituary
William Richard Smith, 77, of Huntsville, Texas, went to be with his loved ones on April 26, 2026. Richard was born on August 10, 1948, in Mexia, Texas to George and Katherine (Magness) Smith. Richard moved to Huntsville in 1968. He worked for TDCJ and then retired with Windham School District. Richard loved spending his time working out at Nautilus and Iron Works. Working out is probably a strong word, but he enjoyed talking to people and joking around.
You sure could hear his laugh from across the gym. If you knew Richard, you definitely have a story to tell. Richard is survived by his partner of 16 years, Sharon Bluda, of Huntsville, Tx; his children, Shane and Keli Smith, Kelli Smith, and Brandon Smith; grandchildren Cameron and Elizabeth Smith, Cassidy Smith, Nick and Julian Kirincic (great grandkids Millie and Mason), Brock Thorn, Grant Thorn, Lincoln Smith, Layla Albin, and Braxton Smith.
He is also survived by his sister, Carole Fowler; sisters-in-law Peggy Franklin and Jewel Bozeman; nieces and nephews Greg Smith, Mike Smith, Shelli Smith Killingsworth, Stephanie Smith Haught, Susan Smith Lloyd, Jennifer Smith Hayes, and Chad Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Katherine Smith; his brothers Jimmy and Larry Smith; and daughter-in-law Mandy Johnson Smith. Your presence and prayers are graciously appreciated.
