In memoriam
Deanna Gay Wooley
July 29, 1964
Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Deanna Gay Wooley announces that she crossed over into heaven and was reunited with her beloved son, “Bo,” and all the family who went on before her on January 27, 2026. She was born on July 29, 1964, in Borger, Texas, to parents Jackie Roy Moore and Camella Rose (Ward) Moore. Deanna was a remarkable force of nature. She had boundless energy and a compassionate heart, always ensuring that anyone in need received a home-cooked meal and generous prayers. No one ever went hungry around her. She had an incredible passion for preparing great meals and sharing them with the people she loved. As a devoted wife and mother, she cherished her son, Elijah, and her husband, Claude, pouring love and care into their lives.
She loved both sides of her family deeply, and that love was returned to her in full measure. She always said grace before every meal and had been saved and baptized years ago alongside her husband and son. On March 11, 2026, Deanna and Claude would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. She worked tirelessly from home as a medical coding and billing specialist, contributing more than her share to the family’s financial well being. Our family depended on her not only for support, but also for her sense of humor and her quirky, playful nature that inspired harmless pranks on family and friends. Her greatest joys included her family, her pets, cooking, music, time spent at the beach, and being a loving “cheerleader” for her nieces and nephews. She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her. Deanna is preceded in death by her father, Jack Moore, and stepmother, Marty Moore; her mother, Camella Moore; her mother in love, Evelyn Genevieve Wooley; her sister, Teresa Orcutt; and her son, Harrell Cap Helton III (“Bo”).
She is survived by her loving husband, Claud W. Wooley; her son, Elijah “Eli” Wooley; her daughter, Leisha Kemph (John); her sisters, Becky Hatherly and Rosie Mature (Robert); nieces Jennifer Budzise (Matt) and Carolyn Mature; nephew Kenneth Mature (Heather); and numerous aunt, uncles, great nieces and great nephews. Deanna's final wishes were to not have a traditional funeral service. She always made it clear she wanted to be cremated and laid to rest next to her son Bo. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com.
