Bobby Gene Melder, 61, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born on September 1, 1964, Bobby lived a life defined by service, strength, and unwavering dedication to both his family and his community. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying that same sense of duty and discipline throughout his life. Following his time in the military, Bobby continued his path of service as a Houston Firefighter and Houston Arson Investigator. He faced danger with courage and pursued truth with determination, leaving a lasting impact on the community he worked tirelessly to protect. Above all, Bobby was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by the love of his life, Belinda Melder, who stood beside him through life’s many chapters. He was a proud father to his daughter, Kayla Tracy, who is married to Travis Tracy, and his son, Zaine Melder. He was also a cherished grandfather to Sloan Tracy and Sawyer Tracy, who brought him immense joy. Bobby is also survived by his mother, Joann Melder; his brother, George Melder, and George’s wife, Suzanne Melder, along with their two daughters.
He is preceded in death by his father, A.D. Melder. Those who knew Bobby will remember a man of quiet strength, integrity, and deep loyalty. Whether in uniform, on the job, or at home with his family, he showed up with purpose and heart. Bobby Gene Melder leaves behind a legacy of honor, resilience, and love that will continue to live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX. A celebration of Bobby's life will continue after the services at 279 Preston Rd, until 3pm.
