Piney Woods Wedding Association Connects Local Vendors to Brides Across the Region

Nonprofit group aims to grow wedding industry support in Walker County and beyond

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A group of dedicated local professionals is helping brides-to-be find everything they need for their special day—right here in the Piney Woods.

The Piney Woods Wedding Association, founded in late 2023, is a nonprofit organization created to bring together wedding-related vendors in Walker County and surrounding areas. Their mission is to connect brides with local businesses, encouraging hometown support and showcasing the region’s talent and services.

As of July 2025, the association has grown to 30 members, ranging from photographers and florists to event venues, alteration specialists, menswear providers, and videographers. The group’s leadership includes John Fletcher of SMART Video Services, Victoria Nokes of Victoria’s Alterations, and Sam Jhangiani of Lee Baron, who have each played a vital role in organizing and promoting the association.

"We saw so much local talent in the wedding industry, but no central hub to bring it all together," said Nokes. "Brides were missing out on businesses right here in Huntsville simply because they didn’t know they existed."

The association is working toward hosting its first bridal expo, giving brides a one-stop opportunity to meet vendors, see products, and plan their day. Membership costs $125 per year, and vendors listed on the association’s website—pineywoodsweddingassociation.com—receive visibility through an organized and professional directory.

Fletcher, who also serves as the group’s president, emphasized that the organization offers more than just a listing. “We’re creating a network that helps businesses grow from hobby to professional level,” he said. “Our monthly meetings, workshops, and plans for expos are all designed to support vendors and brides alike.”

Sam Jhangiani noted the collaborative spirit that defines the organization. “Everyone here helps each other. That’s what makes this group special. Whether you’re in Huntsville, Conroe, or another town nearby, if you’re in the wedding industry, we welcome you.”

The group is especially looking to add more bridal shops, officiants, and event venues. Interested vendors can join directly through the website.
