Obituary

Marsha Cunningham Krezel, 85, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2026, after a 10-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on June 25, 1940, at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas, where her father was then serving as chief of staff. Marsha was the daughter of Sara Elizabeth(Mallia) and George Norman Cunningham, M.D. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston in 1958. Her career spanned 35 years in the construction and commercial real estate development and management industries. Marsha retired after fifteen years as the Executive Assistant to Gerald D. Hines and Jeffrey C. Hines of Gerald D. Hines Interests. Prior to that, she served as Office Manager of the Houston office of Mannesmann Pipe & Steel Corporation and as Administrative Assistant to the Owner-President of Manes Construction Company, Inc. In her spare time, Marsha was a passionate and prolific needle pointer. She was also deeply involved in civic and social organizations, serving for more than ten years as President of the Kerry Glen III Condominiums property owners association in Houston. She was also a member of Bentwater Yacht & Country Club and, previously, a member of Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club, Whispering Pines Golf Club, Sweetwater Country Club, Raveneaux Country Club, and Quail Valley Country Club. Marsha served as a board member and secretary of the Bentwater Ladies' Golf Association, chairperson of the Bentwater Ladies’ Golf Association’s American Cancer Society Fundraiser, and President of the Sweetwater Country Club Ladies Golf Association. A devoted volunteer, Marsha gave generously of her time to various charitable organizations including, among others, Texas Children's Hospital Volunteers and The Gathering Place of Conroe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Conroe and former member of its Trustees Committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother Donald N. Cunningham, and by both of her children, Vicki R. Hallmark and Eugene A. Good, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Alexander A. Krezel; step-son Anthony C. (Tony) Krezel of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother-in law Angus M. Krezel and his wife Carmel Krezel of Melbourne, Australia; sister-in-law, Martha Krezel Ostertag, of Ruidoso, New Mexico; a niece and two nephews in Australia, and numerous extended family members and friends. Per Marsha’s wishes, a private interment will take place at the Cunningham family plot at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
