Community pulls together to gather critical supplies July 7–10, with delivery scheduled for Friday, July 11
In response to devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country, Hello Huntsville and First Baptist Church (FBC) are partnering to rally the local community in a powerful show of compassion and unity. From Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 10, the Family Life Center at FBC Huntsville will serve as a collection hub for critical supplies needed by displaced families and individuals in flood-stricken areas.
The Family Life Center, located at 1229 Avenue J in Huntsville (across from the main church building), will be open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day to receive donations. All collected items will be transported on Friday, July 11 and personally delivered to those impacted in the Hill Country.
Essential Items Requested
Organizers are calling on the community to contribute new, unused supplies that will assist families in their cleanup and recovery efforts. Donations requested include:
- Cleaning supplies such as bleach, disinfectant spray, gloves, scrub brushes, and sponges
- Bottled water and shelf-stable, non-perishable food items
- Hygiene products including toothpaste, soap, shampoo, feminine products, and deodorant
- Baby care items like diapers, wipes, and infant formula
- New socks in all sizes for men, women, and children
- Gift cards (Visa, Walmart, H-E-B, etc.) for personal needs or fuel
- Cleanup tools such as brooms, shovels, and rakes
- Linens like towels and blankets
- Trash bags, paper towels, and disinfectant wipes
This wide-ranging list reflects the real and immediate needs of families who have lost homes, belongings, and access to basic supplies due to catastrophic flooding.
Volunteer Opportunities Open
In addition to donations, volunteers are needed to help receive, sort, and pack supplies at the Family Life Center. Two-hour shifts are available throughout the four-day collection period. Interested individuals, families, or church and civic groups are encouraged to sign up online at:

Volunteers will be on hand to welcome donors, assist with unloading vehicles, and ensure that all supplies are prepared for delivery.
Hope in Action
“This is a moment for Huntsville to do what it does best—care for others,” said Rob Hipp, Founder and Publisher of Hello Huntsville and Community Outreach Minister at First Baptist Church. “We may be miles away from the flooding, but we’re close in spirit. When our fellow Texans are hurting, we show up. Whether it’s diapers, a box of cereal, or a simple pack of socks—every item says, ‘You are not forgotten.’”
Hipp emphasized that this isn’t just about delivering supplies—it’s about delivering hope.
“When we send this truckload to the Hill Country on Friday, it won’t just be stocked with goods. It will be filled with love, prayers, and the generosity of a town that truly believes in being the hands and feet of Christ,” he added.
Texans Helping Texans
Communities across Central Texas continue to recover after record rainfall caused severe flooding, displacing families and damaging homes, schools, and infrastructure. Relief agencies have identified supply shortages in rural pockets where aid has been slow to arrive. That’s why local efforts like the one in Huntsville are essential.
By joining together through this weeklong drive, residents of Huntsville and Walker County can directly impact those affected by disaster—providing not only supplies, but a reminder that they are not alone in their recovery journey.
